Ashlee
Simpson
Autobiography
Our Rating: 7.5 / 10
You
may already know and be familiar with Ashlee Simpson from her
role as the adorable and charming Cecilia, who is Simon Camden's
love interest on the WB's hit show 7th Heaven. After spending
two seasons on the show, Ashlee Simpson wanted to have a change
of pace, and start working on recording her own album. Ashlee
makes everyone quite aware that she is NOT like her big sis,
Jessica Simpson, whose superstardom has developed tremendously
in recent years, and can be recognized all over the world. Ashlee
wanted to make her own mark in the music industry with her brand
new album entitled Ashlee Simpson: Autobiography, which is already
out in stores.
With
a hit reality show, similar to that of her big sis, featured
on MTV, and oodles of other accomplishments already at the tender
age of 19, it's no wonder that Ashlee Simpson is geared up to
enlighten audiences with her side of the story. With her soul
seeking, rock inspired and quite eclectic sounding new album,
Ashlee takes us on a vintage felt ride, packed with heart felt
emotions and confessions of teenage puppy love. Ashlee admits
that she was quite a tomboy growing up, while sister, Jessica,
was more of the girlie, dress up type. Ashlee's individual style
leaks all out in her latest album, with more rock and punk undertones.
Her
first single, Pieces of Me, is a pumped up, feel good song that
anyone could easily rock out to. She co-wrote the song about
a good guy friend, with who she can be herself around, and who
feels "real" when she needs someone to be there for
her. On the track entitled Autobiography, Ashlee sings, "I'm
a simple girl in a complex world." Complex world might
be true, but there's nothing at all simple about the multi-talented
Ashlee Simpson! Her new album is a true inspiration, and really
allows her listeners to view "Jessica Simpson's little
sister" in a whole new light.
